Amanda Stevens was born and raised in the small northeast Arkansas town of Bradford, located in the foothills of the magnificent Ozarks, a setting she loves to use in her books.
"I’ve always thought a small, Southern town the perfect backdrop for suspense familiar surroundings that suddenly become dark and deadly."
After she and her husband married, they migrated to the nearest city, which was Memphis, where for five years they lived only a stone’s throw from Graceland. Amanda’s Memphis connection has also provided inspiration for her books.
"The historic Mississippi River, steamy Blues, sultry nights what more could a writer want?"
It wasn’t until Amanda and her husband moved to Houston Space City as some like to call it that she began writing professionally. Her first book, Killing Moon, a Silhouette Sensation, sold in 1985 on the same day she discovered she was pregnant with twins.
Since then, Amanda has sold over 20 novels of romantic suspense to Silhouette. She now writes for Silhouette Intrigue.
